Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Everything We Know So Far!

12 Nov 2020

In this Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales news update I showcase and talk about everything that we know so far about the PS5 game and Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered. The story is set during winter, a year after the first game. Miles is adjusting to being Spider-Man, while also trying to search for a new sense of belonging after moving into the vibrant and bustling neighborhoods of East Harlem with his best friend, Ganke Lee. Before the Christmas break, Rio Morales' Election Rally is interrupted, as a war breaks out between Roxxon and The Underground. The battle continues on the Braithwaite Bridge, as The Tinkerer attacks a Roxxon convoy in an attempt to steal their NuForm canisters. The open-world is set in the snowy streets of Marvel’s New York City, where you'll traverse new locations, and complete unique quests.

Combat mechanics such as Finishing Moves, Web-Attacks, Gadgets, Suit Mods, and more return. Miles has a unique feel to both combat and traversal, but isn't as experienced as Peter Parker, so his web-swinging is a little bit more flaily in comparison. Miles can activate Spider-Camouflage, giving him the ability to turn invisible. Miles can also unleash a Bio-electric Venom Blast in a Stomping Attack, as a way of Charging towards enemies, and as a way of launching multiple enemies into the air. The game will feature an optional 60fps Performance Mode with 4K and HDR support, improved visuals and lighting with ray-traced reflections and shadows, and near-instantaneous loading and fast-travel, thanks to the Playstation 5's ultra-fast SSD Drive. Models have been upgraded with 4D scans, improved skin shading for more realistic-looking characters, and spline-based hair that moves more naturally.

Many of the city's assets have also been updated with more vehicles and NPC density. The game will also feature Tempest 3D Audiotech and DualSense wireless controller functionality with Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Launch Edition is exclusive to the US and Canada and is available for the PS4 and PS5 in physical format at a local retailer and as a 50GB download from the PlayStation Store. The Launch Edition includes voucher codes to redeem Extra Skill Points which you can spend in-game to unlock new powers and combat abilities, as well as an early unlock for the Gravity Well Gadget, which can pull enemies together to knock them down, and disarm them.

The Ultimate Launch Edition also unlocks the Time Response Activated Circuit Kinetic Suit aka T.R.A.C.K. Suit and an Into the Spider-Verse Suit. If you buy the Launch Edition for the PS4, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for free. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Launch Edition is also exclusive to the US and Canada and is available for the PS5. The Ultimate Launch Edition includes all of the Launch Edition bonuses, and a 105GB voucher code for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered and all three DLC Packs from The City That Never Sleeps, The Heist, Turf Wars and Silver Lining. Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered is no simple up-res, it will feature an optional 60fps Performance Mode, updated art assets, better-looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair, and facial animations, including a next-generation Peter Parker, as well as improved lighting, ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows, and greater draw distance.

It will also support near-instant loading, 3D audio, and Haptic Feedback from the DualSense controller. The Remastered version will also include brand new Trophies, new Photo Mode features, and "three amazing new Spider-Man suits" for you to unlock. Insomniac has no plan to release Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered in a physical format, and Save Files and Trophy progress from the PS4 version will not transfer over to the PS5. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Launch Edition is the global version of the game that includes a voucher code for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered. Insomniac Games has said that if you were to pre-order at a participating retailer or from the Playstation Store, you'll receive the Launch Edition pre-order bonuses from the retailer. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered will be available on the 12th of November in the US, and release on the 19th of November in Europe.
